Each of our jobs gets a full set of drawings including layout, gas, and electrical diagrams. We also draft a series of specifications pertinent to your job, not generic. All of these documents, including manufacturers cut sheets, are provided to the township or municipality at the time of permit application. We leave nothing to chance and document everything to make permitting as easy as possible.
We handle all permit filing, inspection scheduling, and all payments to the municipality. We handle contacting and talking to PECO for natural gas service upgrades. We coordinate all meter upgrades or major work with them on your behalf. We coordinate all propane related installations services as well. And we are on site for any and all inspections.
All of our installations follow National Electric Code specifications, adhere to NFPA 37 standards, follow International Fuel Gas Code standards, and comply with any and all local ordinances. We always err on the side of caution and make sure our distances from vents and windows meet or exceed the specification. If a basement window is going to be too close, then we either permanently seal it or will change it out to glass block.
All of our wiring is sized as per code to 115% of the over current protection device or larger. All of our conductors running to and from the generator are copper and are rated for wet locations, which includes all exterior PVC conduits. This goes for our communications cable, CAT5 and RBUS, as well. We only use what we feel is the best wire on the market, Southwire® & Stabiloy®. All high and low voltage wiring running to and from the generator is sleeved in PVC conduit with flexible connections at the generator set.
All of our gas work is based off of the IFGC sizing charts and oversized for demand and pressure drop. All exterior gas piping is strictly galvanized and all joints are cleaned and coated with cold galvanizing compound before completion. We only use domestic pipe and fittings from Wheatland Tube® and Ward Manufacturing®.
Buried wiring and gas lines always adhere to minimum burial depths and usually exceed them, placing them at 24” below grade. All of our underground gas work is done using Continental Industries ConStab® tube and risers and all underground electric is done with schedule 40 PVC conduits. Before any digging is to begin, Pennsylvania One Call is notified and all facilities are marked. All underground plastic gas piping is tagged using tracer wire and all electrical conduits are flagged with warning ribbon.
All piping and wire is securely strapped, all equipment is properly fastened in place, and all penetrations are properly sealed. All conduits transitioning from interior to exterior are properly sealed internally using duct seal to stop vapor movement and condensation. We use stainless steel or highly corrosion resistant fasteners on all exterior installations. We use the best sealant on the market, Solar Seal; you will never catch us using silicone. All of our installations are on solid foundations, whether it be poured concrete or properly supported and leveled pre-cast pads.
If you haven’t guessed by now, we don’t cut corners. If you are comparing quotes from other contractors, then make sure you are comparing apples to apples before you simply look at the bottom line.
